Road to Recovery
Phase one has been completed. Shalla has been closed up and is in recovery. She was in the OR for just under 6 hours. I just spoke with the neurosurgeon and he said everything went well. From what they could tell they removed the entire tumor and were able to leave all of the nerves intact (facial, balance and auditory). This by no means ensures any functional hearing, but there is still hope. We will not know much on this for quite some time. I have not been able to see her as she is still in recovery and will remain there for the next 1 to 3 hours. After recovery she will be brought to intensive care and remain there for the night. I will be able to visit once she is in ICU. Thank you for all your prayers and support, keep it coming as there is still need.

Our family has been praying for you guys and for Shalla a quick recovery. The girls have made her cards. They are also looking forward to spending more time with "Brookie the cookie". Thanks for keeping us informed and send Shalla our love. We are sending a hug for you too.
