It's hard to believe that one week ago today I had just woke up in the recovey room. Things are going so well, and I feel so blessed that my healing process is progressing well. So far we haven't noticed any long-term side affects taking place - I still have use of my optical and facial muscles and I appear to be hearing out of my right ear, which seems to good to be true. My hearing is still muffled, but hopefully the swelling and fluid in my head will continue to clear and that will get better in time. I've cut back on my pain meds today and that seems to be going OK so far. I have a pretty impessive scar in the back of my head, whcih will make for good happy hour coversations:) I'm still very slow-moving, unsteady and tired. I need one of those big slow moving signs on my butt wherever I go:)
I've been trying to stay awake more during the day so I sleep better at night. But this morning I had breakfast and a shower and my body decided I needed a three hour nap after that. Crazy how little things take so much out of me, but that should get better every day.
My mom has been a big help and great company to have around. I'm thankful to have her here. It makes the days goes faster for me.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers, phone calls, cards, etc. It means more to me than I can express. This whole experience has been so overwhelming and the love and support of friends and family have made it so much more manageable - thank you!!

Just so happy for you!! I prayed that you would have a quick recovery w/ no residual effects so that you would be able to go on w/ your life and resume your "mommy" responsibilities ASAP!!! Sounds like you are making great progress.

I'm so thrilled that your surgery went well, that you're back in the comfort of your own home and that you're feeling as good as can be expected. How wonderful that you can still hear out of your right ear. I hope your road to recovery is a smooth one. Take it easy. Your in my thoughts.
